On Sunday, Glenn Donnellan, a violinist in the National Symphony Orchestra performed the national anthem and “God Bless America” at the Washington Nationals’ home game against the Chicago Cubs. Donnellan crafted his “batolin” in 2009, in advance of a youth musical outreach program in which he wanted to have a unique instrument he could use for children’s concerts....
