Another optional foe found in Elden Ring’s open world is the Fallingstar Beast. It appears in multiple locations throughout the Lands Between, first spotted in the infamous swamps of Elden Ring’s Caelid. Then it can be found in the Atlus Plateau, but its most formidable, fully grown form is located near the ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite bonfire. All three iterations of the Fallingstar Beast can prove to be tricky due to the monster’s high mobility and devastating attacks. However, one player believes they’ve found a trick to render the Fallingstar Beast mostly helpless.

This trick was shown in a clip on Reddit and sees an Elden Ring player stepping up to the fully grown Fallingstar Beast at Mt. Gelmir. The first move the boss goes for is a charge, which is countered by the player’s heavy poise attack. This breaks the Fallingstar Beast’s charge, dealing some damage and allowing for some free hits while it is knocked down. From there, the Elden Ring player remarks that anyone looking for a simple victory over the Fallingstar Beast can repeat the process.
However, defeating the Fallingstar Beast in Elden Ring isn’t as easy as just swiping at him with a heavy poise attack. It requires a bit of timing in order to not be hit by the charge and get knocked off of the top of Mt. Gelmir. Some Elden Ring players in the comments stated that a heavy poise attack isn’t what is needed to knock down the Beast’s charge, and instead any attack directed at the boss’ eye will break its poise and stagger it.
This means then that the trick revolves around a precise attack rather than a heavy poise blow. Moreover, something else that can help defeat the Fallingstar Beast is by using the rock sling that can be picked up in the Street of Sage’s ruins back in Caelid. While this trick might require some timing and a bit of set up, it is still likely to be added into the great book of Elden Ring boss cheeses.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S.
