Subterranean Shunning-Grounds is a sewer-based dungeon in Elden Ring, that has a maze-like layout consisting of tight spaces and dangerous enemies. Newcomers to the area may find it confusing to navigate, but they can make use of this trick to bypass a large chunk of the level.

A Reddit user named uwuwuwuwwuwuwuuwuu has shared a clip featuring an impressive way to skip a considerable part of the sewers under Leyndell. It allows gamers to bypass most of the annoying sections and enemies of this dungeon, including several basilisks. As seen in the video, the player uses Waterfowl Dance, the unique skill of the Hand of Malenia weapon, to cleverly jump down to a lift below. The lift then takes the player to a Site of Grace at the bottom of the area as they successfully avoid a significant chunk of the dungeon.

The next section features a boss fight against Mohg, the Omen, not to be confused with Mohg, Lord of Blood found at the end of Mohgwyn Palace. This version of Mohg is not easy by any means, but it’s generally considered to be simpler than the fight against Mohg, Lord of Blood. Following this battle, players may choose to complete a series of tricky jumps to unlock the path leading to the Lord of the Frenzied Flame ending of the game.

While the strategy seems reasonably straightforward, many players point toward the difficulty of obtaining Hand of Malenia. Users can get this weapon after defeating Malenia and exchanging the Remembrance of the Rot Goddess at the Roundtable Hold. This is no easy task, as Malenia is one of the hardest bosses in Elden Ring. Gamers can also use the Remembrance of the Rot Goddess to obtain the Scarlet Aeonia incantation instead, or duplicate it at a Walking Mausoleum to get both the weapon and the spell.

However, some players claim that the jump can be performed without using the Hand of Malenia or any other weapon. It looks like fans need to carefully time their jump and land on the lift to access the shortcut. Since its release in February, Elden Ring players have figured out various strategies for skipping large sections of the game. This appears to be another invaluable trick that will help users struggling to get through the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
