A clip of this particularly strong Elden Ring illusory wall was posted to Reddit by user teristam. In the clip, the Elden Ring player character smacks the wall repeatedly until it finally disappears and reveals the hidden room on the other side. It leads to a small dining room area with NPCs that players can more easily access through other means. However, it raises the question of whether or not there are similar walls hiding in Elden Ring’s open world waiting for fans to discover.

Understandably, many Elden Ring fans seem shocked by this discovery, as it opens the door to the possibility that there are similar walls that require excessive hits to open. It also means the Elden Ring troll messages tricking people into attacking walls for no reason may not necessarily have been lying. After all, maybe some of those walls did indeed open if players simply had taken the time to hit them more.
For those that want to check this wall out themselves, they’ll need to visit Volcano Manor, which is an area that most Elden Ring players won’t reach until they’re already fairly deep into the game. So those that have already thoroughly explored Elden Ring’s Lands Between can head there now and see if they are able to get the wall to open for themselves, while newcomers will have to make a lot more progress first.
It should be noted that this was seemingly discovered after the latest Elden Ring update, so those with the latest version of the game should still be able to check the wall out for themselves. It doesn’t appear as though FromSoftware patched it out or anything. Of course, there isn’t any big reward for doing opening this wall, but it may still be interesting to curious players who want to search every nook and cranny in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
