One of the reasons that Elden Ring has been as beloved as it has is because it seems like there’s almost an endless number of different heroes that can be created. There are certainly people who have based their playable characters on those they’ve seen in other properties, but the tool also allows for users to put their own spin on whoever they want to make. One player decided they wanted to give their own spin on the Grim Reaper, and the creation certainly generated some buzz online.

Reddit FotelPrezesa showed off their version of the Grim Reaper standing in the world of Elden Ring, with his famous scythe glowing with an intimidating red energy. One interesting touch on this version of the Grim Reaper is that it doesn’t have the kind of skull face that Death tends to take when pictured in books and even on movies and television. This version appears to have a slightly human face, though it’s definitely gaunt and pale.
In fact, when the Redditor showed off their creation to other users on the social media site, people almost immediately decided that this version of the character looked quite a bit like the Grim Reaper from the Bill and Ted movies. The comparison sparked quite a few jokes with lines that were spoken by Bill and Ted’s Grim Reaper when it came to losing board games to the titular heroes.
Other Redditors simply pointed out that the Elden Ring character creator tool allowed the user to create something that was “really cool.” FotelPrezesa acknowledged that they wanted to make some “thematic characters” rather than making something based on well-known personalities.
No matter what the reaction to this particular creation was, one thing has been made very clear about the capabilities of Elden Ring. It seems as though the latest FromSoftware title is the gold standard when it comes to offering up a tool that seems to only be limited by the users’ imagination about what they want to make in the game.
Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
