Since launching for PC and consoles in early 2022, Elden Ring has managed to capture the attention of gamers worldwide with its superb mix of exploration and precise combat. Managing to draw in an audience that expands far beyond the developer’s usual dedicated fans, who helped make titles like Bloodborne and the Dark Souls trilogy cult classics, FromSoftware’s open-world debut with Elden Ring shows why it is one of the most revered developers in the industry at the moment. While the world and characters of Elden Ring have tragic backstories befitting the game’s gloomy tone, many players have managed to bring a little humor to the Lands Between by creating characters based on a wide range of pop culture influences.

In a screenshot posted to r/Eldenring, Reddit user heavy_tempest shared their impressive attempt at recreating former heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson using Elden Ring’s character creation tool. Decked out in shorts and boots, with wrists wrapped and Spiked Caestus fists on each hand, this uncanny player creation looks ready to step into the ring with even the toughest of Elden Ring’s many enemies. Ensuring that the boxer’s doppelganger was true-to-life, heavy_tempest even included Tyson’s trademark face tattoo and the wisps of gray in his beard.

Fans of Elden Ring responding to the post were amused by the eerily accurate recreation of the aging boxer, with some posters asking for heavy_tempest to share the sliders they used so they could create their own in-game version of Tyson. Several responses joked that the enemies in Elden Ring should make sure to protect their ears when facing the created character, referencing the incident where Tyson bit the ear of opponent Evander Holyfield during a boxing match. Other comments shared quotes from Elden Ring re-written in Tyson’s distinct manner of speaking, with a reworked version of one of Margit the Fell Omen’s taunts receiving an uproarious response.

From Sailor Moon to Kratos, creative players have managed to bring all sorts of unexpected faces to Elden Ring, and this Mike Tyson lookalike is one of the funniest yet. And for the players whose interests lean more political than pugilistic, there’s always the Bill Clinton Elden Ring mod to spice things up.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
