Spiritcaller Snails are inherently weak, with players able to slash away at these beasts to quickly drain their health bars. As its name suggests, its main form of offense is summoning Spirits to fight the player, with the Snail itself either hiding from the player or coming out of hiding once the rest of the battle has been complete. Once found, players will usually kill it in a few hits and move on.

However, one Elden Ring player recently shared a hilarious clip where they are punished for messing around with a Spiritcaller Snail. Their co-op partner is seen dodging a basic spit attack attack while Reddit user Psychadelico lays on the ground, clearly poking fun at the weak Snail enemy. They then pay it no respect by rolling right up to it as they drink their flask, essentially begging it to hit them. Funnily enough, it does just that, though clearly neither player was expecting such a ferocious maneuver.

Out of nowhere, the Spiritcaller Snail initiates a grab attack on Psychadelico. The attack itself is disgusting, as the Snail sticks its head and neck into its opponent’s throat and seemingly devours their insides. While this would be shocking enough on its own, the truly surprising aspect of the grab is just how much damage it does. Pyschadelico has a large health bar with half of their health remaining, yet the Spiritcaller Snail drains all of this with one grab. The fact that this seemingly harmless enemy has an insta-kill move is hilarious, and the fact that this happened in Elden Ring’s co-op mode made it even funnier.

Both the Redditor and their partner are shocked to see the Spiritcaller Snail dealing so much damage, as nobody would expect it to deal damage on par with Malenia or Horah Loux’s grabs. While most players will never give the Snail a chance to attack, the fact that this grab is in the game at all is interesting. Those in the comments were shocked to learn that the Spiritcaller Snail had a grab, with Reddit user Lunesy unaware that it had any attacks at all. With Psychadelico punished by the Spiritcaller Snail, perhaps more players will respect the enemy now.

To be fair, the Redditor remarked “so cool” after they were killed, so they do not seem too bothered by this death. With players recently learning that the Cleanrot Knight’s grab attack can catch two gamers at once, it will be interesting to see what other grab-related discoveries are made going forward.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
