Attributed to online artist Al Jerek, this one-of-a-kind artwork sees General Radahn towering over the Radahn Festival party from atop his mount Leonard, the player character and their band of AI summons in the foreground gearing up for one of the most grandiose fights in the entirety of Elden Ring. While Radahn is far from the game’s final boss—and he technically isn’t even a mandatory encounter—he’s arguably much more memorable than late-game baddies like Fire Giant, Godfrey, or Radagon.

Part of the reason for this may stem from the very atypical approach FromSoftware adopted when developing the encounter. In previous games such as Dark Souls and Bloodborne, bosses were intended to be fought solo, though it was possible in most instances to summon NPCs or other players. However, many boss fights in Elden Ring feels as if they weren’t designed with a single player in mind owing to the ubiquity of the game’s many powerful Spirit Ash summons. This is particularly prevalent during the Starscourge Radahn fight, as summoning allies is a central mechanic in it and some have likened it to an MMO raid boss.

Yet, Radahn wasn’t the only boss to capture the imagination of Al Jerek; the artist has created a number of Elden Ring-related portraits focusing on fan-favorite NPCs like Ranni the Witch and other epic bosses such as Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy. They’ve also created a piece depicting the tremendous battle between Let Me Solo Her and Malenia, Blade of Miquella, further adding to the legendary player’s legacy.

There’s so much great fan-generated Elden Ring content available at the moment that it can be tough to keep up with. For instance, YouTuber Shintendo is taking the opposite approach of Al Jerek’s detailed artworks, opting instead to recreate Elden Ring in the style of an original Game Boy game. Given the game’s incredible scope, that seems an outrageously daunting task, but it works as an excellent homage to the roots of action-adventure gaming.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
